As promised, here’s a video of Keane performing at the 40 Principales Gala, in Madrid. They only performed The Lovers are Losing (pity!) but it was an amazing performance nevertheless as usual Keane style.
Thanks very much to KeaneMusicArgentina for uploading this!
American radio station KCRW has posted on their site the video of Keane’s small interview and performance they did last week, when they visited them in California. They perform various songs from Perfect Symmetry: “The Lovers are Losing”, “Again and Again”, “You Don’t See Me”, “You Haven’t Told Me Anything”, “Spiralling”, “Perfect Symmetry”, and more.
In between the songs there’s bits of questions answered mostly by Tom, they talk on everything between their latest album and the experiences recording it, to the addition of Jesse in the band’s logistics. The video is about 40 minutes long.
Keane will be performing on friday at the awards show of one of Spain’s (and the World’s!) biggest radio stations, Los 40 Principales Premios. The performance will be in Madrid, at the Palacio de Deportes. It’s already sold out, but if you’re there it wouldn’t hurt to try and get tickets. If you’re too far, you can always listen to it online, at the 40 Principales website, Los40.com

Amazing news Keane will start to release a new set of EPs, and quoting their post, they will be “a special new run of digital retrospective EPs, which will only be available via the keanemusic.com shop. The idea is that these EPs will bring together some of the rarest Keane tracks, giving the band’s most loyal fans (ie you lot) the chance to own them.” How cool is that!? The first EP has been released already, and it’s all about Everybody’s Changing:
We begin with an Everybody’s Changing-themed collection of songs. For £3.95, you’ll get the following tracks as high-quality MP3s (which means they’ll play on any player, including iPods). None of these are available elsewhere - and the video chat has been made especially.
EVERYBODY’S CHANGING EP
1. Original demo
2. Demo from July 2002
3. Fierce Panda version
4. Live version from first Lamacq Live electric session on Radio 1
5. Demo of Fly To Me (Everybody’s Changing B-side)
6. Demo of Into The Light (Unreleased Song)
7. Video chat of Tim interviewed by Tom about Everybody’s Changing
You can download the EP now from here, for £3.95 (it’s available to km.com users worldwide).
Hey, check this out: Tim has posted a pretty intresting work on the official site, on which he talks about what he and the band have been up to, which includes gigs, radio stops, and working with Kanye West:
What a strange week in the life of Keane. Exactly a week ago I was sitting on the Eurostar in a half-sleep, having just played the last gig of our European tour in Paris and then spent the entire night in the studio with Kanye West. He played us the whole of his new album, which sounded truly awesome - the bass was so fat that eventually the mixing desk blew up. I was especially pleased when he picked out a line from Spiralling (”When we fall in love, we’re just falling in love with ourselves”) as being a personal favourite, as it’s my favourite line I’ve ever written. Hurrah. Then Kanye did some work on one of our tracks, and after that I sat in a corner and watched him do his thing on a song for Jamie Foxx. The whole thing was a real privilege and I learned a lot. I wish I had Kanye’s energy…and his dress sense! Will work on it.
The Paris gig was a great way to end the tour - I think we were all slightly taken aback by the noisy enthusiasm of the French crowd, but in addition it was a particular highlight of the tour for me because we had Ladyhawke supporting us. Pip is a great songwriter and musician, and her album is one of the best of the year in my opinion. I hadn’t ever seen her play live, so that was a real thrill…
Hey everyone! Just a quick heads up, don’t forget American fans that Keane recorded yesterday the Ellen Degeneres show, and it will be transmited today! It’s on at 3PM PST and 4PM EST.
